Last March, I had the joy of taking part in a meaningful residency with Vox Anima, and I’m very excited to be returning to the UK this March, to join them once again as they welcome VOCES8 for their biennial “Sing Here with VOCES8″ event.
It has always been a dream of mine to have VOCES8 perform one of my works. So I am absolutely thrilled that together with renowned British cellist Guy Johnston and a mass choir of singers from around the world, VOCES8 will be performing the world premiere of a newly commissioned arrangement of my work, Ripple Effect.
Ripple Effect was originally published in 2022, in a scoring for SATB + SAT semi-chorus & cello. The work is based around a powerful combination of texts by Hildegard von Bingen and Mother Teresa, which are showcased in this emotive choral work. As it is the first work I have written featuring a cello accompaniment, it was my goal to give the cello an equal part in this piece allowing it to sing like a member of the choir. It was such an enjoyable part to write.
I will be present with VOCES8 and singers in both the rehearsals and concert performance on 21 March 2026 at Cadogan Hall, London and I can’t wait to work with such a talented group of musicians!
